Sarah Meltzer started her career at The Gap as part of the retail management team, opening the first stores in eastern Canada. She found her way to Asia and joined The Walt Disney Company where she was introduced to the world of entertainment and consumer products licensing. She helped launch family audio and computer software products within the Disney licensing family. Specifically, she helped build the line look and marketing for the Asian local language soundtracks of The Lion King and Aladdin animated films. Years later, she relocated to Los Angeles and segued into the theatrical marketing department of another media giant, News Corp. As part of the Twentieth Century Fox team, Sarah worked with a range of studio-related departments - creative advertising, licensees, production and distribution - as well as external parties such as corporate alliance and promotional partners, talent agencies, communication/PR agencies, cable networks, and product placement agencies. At Fox Film, Sarah helped to develop short-term marketing initiatives as well as long-term strategic partnerships with global Fortune 500 companies, primarily in Asia Pacific and Latin America. |

At Fox, she also supervised implementation of in-market, tie-in programs with brands such as Mazda, Samsung, Pepsi, Baskin Robbins, Ray Ban, Domino's Pizza and Kraft Nabisco. In between Fox Film and Disney, Sarah consulted with Lions Gate Films International in LA, assisting with market and film festival sales for feature film projects in development. |
OtherAn avid sports enthusiast, Sarah helped launch the local Montreal chapter of an amateur athletic association entitled Fondation Create-A-Wave. Sarah regularly participates in conferences, like the Canadian Sponsorship Forum for event, media and entertainment insiders, as well as The LA Office Roadshow, Advertising Age's Madison + Vine, and Sports Business Journal's Canada Sports Forum. In 2002, Sarah was a guest speaker at the entertainment industry conference on Promotions hosted by Entertainment Promotions Marketing (EPM). Sarah has a BA in Film Studies from The University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario and a Certificate in Finance from the University of Michigan Business School. She enjoys tennis, skiing, rollerblading, attending ice hockey and other live sporting spectacles. |
